Animal Husbandry : Along with agriculture, animal husbandry is also a major source of livelihood for farmers. Because of this, most of the farmers now do animal husbandry as well. The government also provides financial assistance for this. NABARD i.e. National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) is implementing a big plan for this. A loan of Rs 5 lakh was given to purchase animals and start a dairy unit. But now under the new scheme this amount has now been increased to Rs 12 lakh. Let's see the details of what exactly this plan is.

    The subsidy for setting up dairy units under NABARD loan scheme has been increased from 25 percent to 50 percent. So that more people will participate in animal husbandry. Now there is a loan of 12 lakhs for animal husbandry. In which 50 percent subsidy will also be available. This step will be taken to promote animal husbandry. 

    So that the dairy industry can gain momentum. Apart from this, farmers working in animal husbandry and dairy sector will also get self employment. Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal made the announcement at the second convocation ceremony held at Kamdhenu University, Anjora on Wednesday.

Animal Husbandry Loan Scheme

    Under NABARD Animal Husbandry Loan Scheme, the loan amount is determined according to the need of the applicant. The loan amount for purchase of animals ranges from 50 thousand to 12 lakh rupees. Loan amount for dairy business can range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. Experts said that NABARD Animal Husbandry Loan Scheme is available in two forms. 

    First animal purchase loan, under which money is paid for the purchase of animals. Another is available for dairy farming. Under which money is paid for the purchase of infrastructure and equipment required for dairy farming.

    Under the NABARD Animal Husbandry Loan Scheme, the loan interest rate is 6.5 percent to 9 percent per annum. The loan repayment period is 10 years. Under the NABARD Animal Husbandry Loan Scheme, a subsidy of up to 33.33 per cent is given to SC/ST applicants. Other applicants are subsidized up to 25 percent.
